Cresta
Cresta is oriented towards the chair type of a ‚Stabelle‘, a traditional rural chair with legs and backrest dovetailed into a solid seat. The iconic chair from the Alps served both as a model and as inspiration: as a model in the choice and simplicity of methods; as inspiration with regards to its expression and ornaments. Cresta plays with the basics of a chair. The back, the seat, and the four legs are joined with a milled, round central piece. The energetic centre of the chair joins the seat and the backrest using the industrial technique of interlocking joints. The construction is intentionally exposed and becomes an ornament. Like a ‘Stabelle’, the four legs are inserted and glued into drill holes in the central element. The name of the chair uses an Italian expression to indicate the core of the design.
