Lütjens Padmanabhan architects are designing the new residence of the Swiss ambassador in Algiers as a single-story pavilion that seems to merge with the spacious garden. We are responsible for the furniture and lighting concept. The green of the plants and the reddish hue of the earth influence the interior. The wood preservative often used in Algiers provides additional inspiration for the reddish stain of the furniture. A single type of luminaire is used both indoors and outdoors. The purpose of the light changes depending on its positioning in the room. The design is inspired by a model from the Kasbah, the old town of Algiers. The five meter long meeting table and the lights were designed specifically for this location.
