AIS
Two lines form a bed frame. One inner edge, slanting towards the contents of the bed, and one outer edge, demarcating the bed from the exterior, form the thickness of the frame. The design is based on the idea of playing with the distance between the two edges in order to create visual tension. The frame becomes thicker towards the bottom end of the bed. This detail provides for a generous rounded finishing on the external corners of the bedframe. The exposed corners thus acquire a nicely smooth and rounded aspect. The headboard also arises from a curvature, albeit in the horizontal plane. Curves and straight lines are placed in a dynamic tension. The bed AIS represents the beginning of the development of a formal language for the Swiss bed specialist.
