SIDAR
The SIDAR lamp produces direct light shining down, while at the ceiling it creates a situation of indirect lighting. The main idea of the lamp, however, is manifested in its exterior shell. The positioning of the lamellae creates an atmospheric ambient light. The lamp shade appears to be pleated but is actually made of sheet metal lamellae. It is propped up by a slim tube or suspended from the ceiling on a thin steel cable. The project was created in collaboration between jörg boner productdesign and Christian Deuber Light Projects. The lamps were developed in 2007 for a semi-public building on behalf of Meier Leder Architects, Baden (CH). With some slight adaptations for industrial production they found their way into the Schätti Lamps collection in 2014.
